Is Ben Simmons playing tonight vs Chicago Bulls? Injury update on Brooklyn Nets star

On Tuesday, the Chicago Bulls will play the Brooklyn Nets in an Eastern Conference battle. The Bulls are looking to snap a two-game losing streak after losses to the San Antonio Spurs and the Philadelphia 76ers. After defeating the Indiana Pacers at home on Monday, the Nets now face a back-to-back. The Bulls have Zach LaVine (knee), Ayo Dosunmu (thoracic), and Coby White (quad) listed as questionable, while Andre Drummond (shoulder) and Lonzo Ball (knee) are ruled out. For Brooklyn, Seth Curry (ankle) and Ben Simmons (knee) are listed day-to-day.

Is Ben Simmons playing tonight?

Ben Simmons recently underwent surgery on his back, and he actually missed the game before this one because of some swelling in his knee.

Ben Simmons will miss his second consecutive game on Tuesday due to left knee soreness.

If the Nets want Simmons to be in good health come April, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense for them to push him this early in the season. Therefore, it is in everyone’s best interest to move more gently with him. Aside from that, the offense moved rather smoothly without him when they played the Pacers on Monday.

Ben Simmons will miss his second consecutive game Tuesday due to left knee soreness, the Brooklyn Nets announced just before Steve Nash’s firing.

Simmons was listed as injured on Brooklyn’s injury report prior to the team’s 116-109 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Monday. This season, the three-time All-Star had not missed a game. Nash did not provide any details about the extent of his ailment prior to his departure on Monday.

“All I know is that Ben has a sore knee,” Nash added. “We’ll have to monitor it and see how it is tomorrow, but he’s out tonight and we’ll see how the knee is tomorrow and whether he’s able to roll.”

The 26-year-old had back surgery this offseason and has failed to seem athletically like himself this season. Simmons has been surprisingly sluggish offensively, averaging 6.2 points on 5.7 shots per game. On multiple occasions, the three-time All-Star has displayed signs of pain after initiating contact while driving to the rim.

Ben Simmons’ knee pain was reported for the first time in an injury update on Monday.

The Nets will seek to start their first winning streak of the season when they return to action against the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday, followed by road games against the Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets later this week. With Nash out of the picture, Jacque Vaughn will serve as interim head coach.
